Snow and Shots

We had another day with snow, but also sunshine. Fortunately, our power came back online this morning. Not everyone is so lucky. We keep the snow off our mailbox, but it’s  been a few weeks since we’ve had waste disposal service. It’s a good practice not to rely on the garbage me, anyway.

What do you do when the sun is shining and there’s no power? innoculations, of course. The camelids are a little weary of us this morning, but they never remember the day before when there is food to eat today. Llamas are not so quick to forget.

Arun will work to get the barn completed as quickly as possible today. It’s not going to be too much longer before the snow is gone and so is our free pass to work on home projects rather than the work outside the house. Not only that, the snow is very nice to look at.

Power!

There were about 8 inches more snow last night.  It doesn’t look like we’ll be getting out today. Even the llamas don’t want to come out.

Barn!! Snow!! People in Snow and Barns!

Posted by: kari  |  Category: Uncategorized

We’ve been snowed in the past day or two, so there’s been plenty of time to work on the barn. Walls went up, animals were locked in for the night, and there was even a cabinet placed in the feed area. This project is not only coming together, it’s looking great!

Aquisition of the llama kind

Nala has come to live with us. She’s about three years old and of the heavy wool llama variety. She will make a great companion for a horse or camelid in any field.

The Barn Continued

Posted by: kari  |  Category: Uncategorized

We’ve added another llama to the menagerie as a favor to a neighbor. And to the right is Brody, the gelding. So the barn progress must continue apace. Last week Arun got most of the horse stall done, and finished up the stall that will allow goats access to the near field. We’ll be using that stall as a chicken coop temporarily. Poor goats.

More Barn Work

As this is being typed, there is work going on  in the barn. No, not fireworks, but more stall partitions are going up. This is so exciting!
